I’d like to welcome you to the fifth installment of the much heralded “Theological Shark Week,” hosted here at Daily Theology. Shark Week is a time for multiple authors to address a central and compelling topic that is of particular relevance to daily life. In the past few years, we’ve talked about the role of the theologian, reasons for (still) being Catholic, the place of faith in the classroom, and, most recently, Pope Francis’ notion of a “church of and for the poor.”
Next week, DT offers an unprecedented 10 posts over the course of five amazing days to aid your theological discussions. From ghosts to zombies, hell to heaven, prayers for the dead to the Communion of Saints, Daily Theology will welcome the week of Halloween, All Saints Day, and All Souls Day with unprecedented levels of theological relevance. We may not have awesome costume ideas, but our posts may very well inspire the most obscure theological Halloween costumes possible (Revelation 4:6-8, anyone?).
On a more serious note, we’re very excited about a number of guest bloggers that will be joining us this week from the fine doctoral programs of Boston College, Fordham University, and the University of Notre Dame. As DT always seeks to contribute meaningfully to the “the broader conversation in the contemporary Catholic and Christian context,” we are excited to welcome new voices into the community.
