  1. It is great that St. Augustine’s ‘Confessions’ has worked as a window for self-reflection for you and your students. I did not have that same experience while reading the book and have found two texts in particular that have both challenged and fortified my faith by leading me into deep reflection while reading. They are Thomas a Kempis’ ‘Imitation of Christ’ and modern mystic Maria Valtorta’s ‘Poem of the Man-God’. I’ll admit I wasn’t ready for either book in college but for those already called by God to walk with him, these two texts can profoundly shape your Christian lives.
